USM took over the management of Green Park Market in 2000 with the aim of increasing trade and footfall, and raising awareness of the site by providing a mixture of different markets, events and activities. The market is in the heart of the heritage city, in the beautifully restored listed Victorian train shed of Green Park Station, a long defunct rail terminus for the Midland Railway’s Bristol to Birmingham line.
Under USM’s management Green Park Market opened from Wednesday to Saturday with arts, crafts and collectables alongside more general goods. It is also one of the country’s pioneer farmers markets, held weekly and offering a wide range of fresh produce direct from local farms
