USM assisted the charity Action Acton to set up a market. Action Acton, a development trust, had secured LDA funding to start market activity on the newly redesigned Acton Town Square which is one of the Mayor of London's 100 key public places. USM worked with Action Acton on instituting a market from scratch, including negotiating the operating licence with LB Ealing, securing planning permission, devising an operational manual and providing stalls and layout advice. In addition we helped set up a training scheme for local people wishing to become market traders and we devised job descriptions and helped select the 2 market managers.

The project has secured a regular farmers market which was planned to be monthly, but proved to be so successful that it has become a weekly feature. USM continue to give advice on a regular basis to this growing market location.
